On 15 February 2025, the Design and Technology Educators Society (DTES) held its Biennial General Meeting (BGM) at Peirce Secondary School. The event brought together educators and design professionals to discuss the evolving role of design in education.
The Management Committee was honored to host four distinguished designers, who shared their insights on how design thinking and innovation can shape the future of education. Their sharing sparked meaningful discussions on integrating design principles into teaching and learning, inspiring educators to cultivate creativity, perserverance, curiosity and serendipity among students.
We are pleased to share a reflection by Mr. Jason Tan SC, capturing key takeaways from the session.
AI in Design is an interest group where DTES members exchange ideas about the latest artificial intelligence developments in design education.
Meet a Designer (MaD) events bring together DTES members and practitioners to share philosophies, experiences, and ideas about design so that DTES members can bring these stories back to their classrooms to inspire their pupils.
Sketch-Ideate-Render (SIR) are get-together sessions to discuss issues about sketching, ideas conceptualisation, and rendering. It is a session to hone DTES members skills to externalise their design thinking process through practice and reflection.
